ICAEW, KACR and VSE are pleased to invite you to a screening of False Assurance, a corporate governance and auditing drama. The film and subsequent panel discussion will encourage thought-provoking discussions. They will address how accountants, auditors and company directors deal with challenges such as the exercise of professional judgement on key accounting and auditing issues, and the dangers of cyber-attacks, the impact of personal relationships and other ethical dilemmas in the workplace.

False Assurance has been an international success with major accountancy firms taking licence for use with staff and clients.  It has been shown to professional accountancy bodies and their members, regulators, board directors and universities around the world.

More information about False Assurance can be found at

We will also introduce recent ICAEW-Deloitte research on audit committees. Based on in-depth interviews with audit committee members in seven CEE countries, a shared ICAEW – Deloitte report, Making a difference: audit committees in Central and Eastern Europe, published during the summer of 2017, draws out insights on how audit committees are working, how they are having an impact and how they view the future. It provides insights into some of the common challenges still remaining at a time when the role of audit committees is expanding, largely driven by the introduction of new statutory requirements.

A reception with networking opportunities will follow.
