Institute of Sustainable Finance

The Institute of Sustainable Finance (IUF) is an institute of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the University of Economics in Prague, which brings together students and the professional public with an interest in sustainable finance. The goal of IUF is present one of the most important and fastest developing areas of finance in the context of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.

Vision of Institute

The long-term vision of IUF is to become a respected ESG platform bringing together representatives of the university, state and private spheres in the Czech Republic (the so-called triple helix principle). The ambition of the IUF is also support of research in the field of sustainable finance by organizing seminars, trainings, professional conferences and raising awareness of this area.

What we do

IUF deals primarily with the financial sector and energetics in 3 pillars:

• 1st educational pillar: IUF as a platform (e.g. ESG Summit FFÚ VŠE)
• 2nd pedagogical pillar: IUF as an educational center (e.g. certified ESG training for employees of financial and non-financial institutions, ESG projects, student theses on a given ESG topic, surveys among students),
• 3rd research pillar: IUF as a research workplace (e.g. contract research, basic and applied research grants, European grants).
