Why Study at FFA?

The vast majority of our students and graduates evaluate both the programme and the teaching staff positively. We emphasise an applied approach—combining general knowledge with concrete methods and real-world solutions. In accounting and finance, this is essential.

You will study a clearly defined programme – you know what to expect. Future employers are aware of this as well, which increases your attractiveness on the job market. If you decide to study master programme abroad or at another university in the Czech Republic, you will easily find a comparable programme. Our students can participate in study stays abroad.

Master’s students can participate in study stays abroad through Erasmus+ Exchange or Double Degree programmes!

Careers in finance and accounting among our graduates are built on critical thinking and a creative approach to innovation. Examples include technological innovations in finance and accounting, international accounting standards, and innovations in capital and foreign exchange markets. Graduate unemployment is virtually zero.

Starting salaries after graduation (or even during studies) in large companies are typically around CZK 55–60 thousand (EUR 2-3 thousand) per month.

Graduates report that two to three years after completing their studies, their average gross monthly income reaches approximately CZK 75–90 thousand (EUR 3–4 thousand).

Do you want to work as an independent or employed auditor, tax advisor, financial advisor or analyst, broker, etc.? These professions are regulated, and their practice usually requires passing additional professional exams. The faculty will help you prepare for them.

We also hold institutional accreditation of FFA, which facilitates access to professional qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, ICAEW, the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic. These certifications open career opportunities worldwide.

The BIFA programme helps you prepare for, or complete, up to 4 ACCA exams. The follow-up Master’s programme MIFA supports preparation for and completion of an additional 3 + 2 exams.

Some exams from the BIFA/MIFA programmes are recognised as partial exemptions toward the certification exams for auditors in the Czech Republic.

Companies are interested in our students, and students value lectures delivered by industry professionals. This is reflected in the involvement of approximately 70–85 experts from renowned, often multinational firms in teaching, supervision of theses, and internships.

Senior experts and partners from organisations such as Komerční banka, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, BDO, and PwC regularly contribute.

Students can complete internships as part of their studies, and many gain relevant professional experience in qualified positions.

Career mentoring at faculty further supports students in their development.

The faculty’s reputation, as well as that of the University of Economics, Prague, is excellent in the Czech labour market and abroad. This is reflected in broader opportunities to choose more attractive and better-paid jobs.

The Faculty of Finance and Accounting achieved this strong position in the Accounting & Finance field: in Central and Eastern Europe, we rank 13th, within the Czech Republic, we maintain 1st place in finance and accounting and 201–250 band in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

The faculty also organises many enjoyable events for students (Sportovní den VŠE, InnoWeek, Bowling, Student Clubs)

There are three student clubs active at the faculty. They organise not only professional events, but also informal gatherings with good food and drinks—be sure to check them out.

We look forward to meeting you at the Freshers’ Bowling event.
