Path to Your Degree

  1. Study the Student Handbook and your recommended study plan

  2. Successfully complete the first semester and earn at least 20 credits

  3. Pass the First year of compulsory courses

  4. Choose your path in the Second year and specialise in your desired field

  5. Study a Double Degree programme and obtain two Diplomas

  6. Choose a topic and supervisor for your thesis

  7. Successfully pass the Final State Exam and obtain a Master’s degree

  8. Attend the graduation ceremony and receive your diploma

Study Guide

The Handbook contains study plans, which are binding for students in terms of course structure (depending on the academic year of enrolment). It also includes information on the start of studies, useful links and guidance on student dormitories and working with the InSIS information system, as well as answers to frequently asked questions from new students.

MIFA students study compulsory courses during the 1st and 2nd semester of the programme.

The schedule is fixed, organized in study blocks – each semester is divided into 2 study blocks, each of 6 weeks. Each study block ends with examination period.

Students choose a track which they want to follow in the second year of the MIFA programme: Double Degree programme or continue studying at FFA VŠE.

In the 3rd semester students take Project (6 ECTS) course and choose one of the following (24 ECTS):

  • Elective courses
  • Erasmus+ Exchange
  • Internship

In the 4th semester students choose mandatory-elective courses and focus on Master’s Theses.

Students selected for a Double Degree programme study the second year at one of our partner Universities:

  • Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg
  • Univestié catholique de Louvain
  • University of Porto
  • University of Vassa

During your studies, you can go abroad (both at the bachelor’s and follow-up master’s level), either for a semester or for shorter study stays. Many courses completed abroad can be recognised as part of your study plan.

Internships are part of some study programmes. Many of our students work during their studies and gain relevant professional experience, which is often reflected in their final theses. Study programme

Study programmes are regularly consulted with the Alumni Board and Faculty corporate partners to ensure they reflect employers’ requirements.

Join one of the student clubs or take part in faculty activities. Enrich your studies with these experiences, make lifelong friends, and gain experience valued by employers.

The graduation ceremony is a formal event at which you receive your bachelor’s diploma. Attendance at the ceremony is not mandatory, but students usually attend together with their family members.
The invitation to the ceremony is published by the study department on the faculty website approximately 2–4 weeks in advance. The date of the ceremony is specified in the official schedule.
